1801 – Birth of Emanuel Pintox at Sea
In January 1801, Pintox was born onboard the convict ship Anne while it was travelling to Australia. Biographical Database of Australia (BDA), Emanuel Pintox, L#91041085101. He was the son of Mary Madden (1768-1863), an Irish convict, and a sailor named Emanuel Pintox, who he was named after Emanuel (Junior) was conceived around April 1800 while they were on a prison hulk. On 22 August 1800, the Anne arrived in Rio de Janeiro.

On 17 June 1840, Pintox was granted 80 acres of land at Mangrove Creek, New South Wales. 1841 – New South Wales Census
The 1841 New South Wales census states the following:
“PINTOX, Emanuel Return No. 78 Place of residence. Mangrove Crk, Dist. 1855 – Marriage of Catherine Pintox to James Rose

1868 – Police Gazette
The 27 May 1868 New South Wales Police Gazette refers to Emanuel Pintox owning a horse which was stolen:
“A warrant has been issued (Bench not stated) for the arrest of Henry Jeffries, charged with larceny… this offender was entrusted with a black draught mare, branded JA near shoulder, white legs, stripe down face, the property of Emanuel Pintox, Macdonald’s River, St Alban’s which he faile7d to deliver to Emanuel Pintox, junr.” New South Wales Police Gazette, 27 May 1868, page 166.
1880 – Death of Emanuel Pintox (Jnr)
On 17 March 1880, Pintox died at Macdonald River, New South Wales, Australia. The death certificate stated Pintox was a farmer, the son of Emanuel Pintox a sailor, and Mary Madden. On 19 March 1880, Pintox was buried at the Upper Macdonald River, Hawkesbury, New South Wales, by officiating minister James Jurd.
